Heron “Bigote” Castaneda-Holguin, 61, of Garden City, died Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. 

He was born July 1, 1956, in Camargo, Mexico.  

He worked as a landscaper for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Virgina Varela Castaneda of Garden City; three sons, Joe Varela, Tony Varela and Ramon Lucero, all of Garden City; a daughter, Darlene Newberry of Garden City; two brothers, Bethel Castaneda and Juan Castaneda, both of Juarez, Mexico; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Eduardo Pedro Varela.

Graveside service will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.

Visitation hours are 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. to noon Friday at Price & Sons Funeral Home, Garden City.
