JaKayla Lynn “Jake” Brehm-Vasquez, 36, of Plains, died Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

She was born Dec. 25, 1981, in Scott City, to Leo Edward Brehm and Sheryl Yoder. She attended schools in Ingalls and Garden City. 

She worked as a paraprofessional at Southwestern Heights Junior High in Kismet.

Survivors include a daughter, Brittany Vasquez  of the home; and her siblings, Kimberly Mitchell, Lisa Leonard and Audra Lee, all of Kansas City, Janelle Vallejo of Holcomb, and Staci Lee of Lakin.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Landon Kamphofner; and her parents.

Funeral will begin at noon Wednesday in the auditorium of Southwestern Heights Junior/Senior High School, 17222 Mustang Road in Kismet. Graveside service will begin at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Scott City Cemetery in Scott City.
