Helen J. Klaus, 82, died Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Kearny County Hospital in Lakin.
She was born Feb. 12, 1936, in Garden City, to Ben and Gertie Counterman Frank.
Mrs. Klaus had been a lifetime resident of Finney County. A homemaker, she was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Garden City. She enjoyed reading, cooking and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
On Nov. 29, 1958, she married Don J. Klaus in Emporia. He survives. Other survivors include two children, Paula (Tony) McGee of Moore, Okla., and Michael Klaus of Garden City; two sisters, Glenna Patterson of Cleveland, Okla., and Evelyn Philbrick of Deer Park, Texas; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and six sisters.
A rosary will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Garden City. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.
