ELKHART — Glenda C. King, 76, of Elkhart, died Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Via Christi Nursing Home in Hays.

She was born April 1, 1941, in Elkhart to Charles and Matilda (Harms) Vandervort.

She attended Elkhart schools and Liberal School of Cosmetology. She lived in Elkhart all her life. She worked most of her adult life at The Elkhart Tri-State News.

She married Elmer King. 

She is survived by a son, Shane King and wife Jennifer of Guymon, Okla.; a daughter, Shauna Clark and husband Darrin of Ellis; a brother, Roger Vandervort of Ft. Townsend, Okla.; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and six siblings.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Elkhart. Burial will follow at the Elkhart Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart.
