HOLCOMB — Argy Bell Wilson, 98, died Friday, March 2, 2018, at Homestead Assisted Living in Garden City.
She was born June 4, 1919, in Berlin, Okla., to Archie & Ruby (Davis) Brownlee.
She married Merl F. Wilson on Oct. 31, 1937, in Elk City, Okla. He died Sept. 16, 2008.
She grew up in Sayre, Okla., and graduated high school there. She was a farm wife and she and her husband moved to Holcomb in 1950.
She went to beauty school in Dodge City and after graduating was owner-operator of Holcomb Beauty Shop and later Wilson Beauty Shop in Holcomb for 25 years. She enjoyed being outdoors doing yard work and taking care of her flowers and gardens. She also enjoyed sewing and had been a 4-H Leader while her children were in the clubs.
She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Kaiser of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Merlene Pettz and her husband, Hollis, of Kearny, Mo.; five grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Ruby Janell Wilson; a grandson, Mark Kaiser, and three brothers, Dale, Harold and Glen, who died on the same day as she did.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Garnand Funeral Home.
