DIGHTON — Tony B. Terhune, 82, of Dighton, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018, at Lane County Hospital in Dighton. 

He was born March 20, 1935, in Hope, Ark., to Everett Paul and Floy Jean Keen Terhune. He graduated from Dighton High School in 1953.

On Nov. 23, 1958, he married Betty Ann Burnett in Dighton.

Mr. Terhune was employed by Bosley Texaco, Lane County Road Department and Farmers Co-op Elevator, where he was the fertilizer manager. In 1976, he started Tony’s Well & Pump Service, which he ran until retirement. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Army Reserves. He enjoyed camping, fishing, playing pool, boating, skiing, dancing and later enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting and dirt bike racing events.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Terhune of the home; a son, Travis Terhune of Dighton; a daughter, Tonia Root of Dighton; five grandchildren, Chris Terhune, Leighton Ayers, Kyle Root, Sheldon Root and Tasha Root; and two great-grandchildren, Mayci Terhune and Knox Ayers.

Funeral will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church in Dighton. Burial will be at Dighton Memorial Cemetery, with military honors conducted.
