SCOTT CITY — Verene M. Kelley-Dearden, 90, of Scott City, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2018, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.
She was born Feb. 10, 1927, in St. Francis, S.D., to Carl and Lucelle Hinricks Dice.
She married Frank Gay. He preceded her in death. On Oct. 3, 1947, she married Dr. Samuel Jack Kelley. He died June 3, 1977. She married Lesley Dearden on Sept. 22, 1979. He died June 11, 1992.
She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Claudia Trent; and six siblings, Renee Good, Dorthy Bender, Deloris Harkness, Sunny Dice, Midge Barber and Belva Dice.
Survivors include four children, Don Kelley of Idaho, Jacque Voth of Garden City, Duane Kelley of Wichita, and Michael Kelley of Washington; seven siblings, Jean Brandenburger of Colorado, Arlene Boyde, Darrell Dice, Dennise Dice and Rita Peterson, all of Idaho, and Kathy Coats and Bonnie Todd, both of Washington; 15 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Scott City. Private family burial will be at Scott County Cemetery.
Visitation hours are 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Price & Sons Funeral Home of Scott City.
