KENDALL — Harvey H. Horton, 81, of Kendall, died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018, at Hamilton County Hospital in Syracuse.

He was born July 19, 1936, in Garden City, to Sherman Joseph Horton and Ethel Mae Bishop Horton. He attended school in Pierceville, graduating in 1952.

On Aug. 14, 1960, he married Emma Louise Ploeger in Deerfield.

Mr. Horton was a teacher, later serving as principal at Manter and as principal and superintendent at Utica. He also farmed.                           

Survivors include three sons, Wade Horton of Bellevue, Neb., John Horton of Kendall, and Brett Horton of Rome, Ga.; a daughter, Fanci Coyle of Aledo, Texas; and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert Lee Horton and Marion Joseph Horton; and three sisters, Jessie Marie Lightner, Bernice Pauline Davis and Claradella Widows.

Funeral will begin at 10 a.m. MST Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Syracuse. Burial will follow at Kendall Cemetery.

There will be no public visitation, although the family will receive friends from 1 to 6 p.m. MST Sunday at the Horton Farm, 2486 Road A, Kendall.
