Joseph E. “Joe” Mader, 87, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City.
He was born Nov. 21, 1930, in Granada, Colo., to John and Kate Mader.
A Garden City resident for most of his life, Mr. Mader was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean conflict.
He married Charlene Pullman. She died in 1973. He also was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Doug Mader; three brothers; and four sisters.
Survivors include two sons, Rick and Nancy Mader of Holcomb, and Gary Mader of Arizona; two daughters, Deb and Gary Pickett of Wichita, and Sandy and Larry Ardery of Greensburg; a brother, George Mader of Arizona; a sister, Annabelle Newsome of Garden City; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.
