CIMARRON — Elaine I. Oberlander, 94, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2018, at The Shepherds Center in Cimarron. 

She was born May 12, 1923, in Redfield, S.D., to Willard and Minnie Manson Walsh.

In 1960, she married Art Oberlander in Redfield. In 1961, they moved to Garden City, and owned and operated the Century truck stop. He died in 1999 in Garden City. She also was preceded in death by her parents; her foster father and mother; her first husband, Donald Belau; a brother, Marvin Walsh; a sister, Willma Nowell; a son, Dayton Belau; a daughter, Mary Jane Belau; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Maris of Wichita, Susan Harris of Chickasha, Okla., and Debbie Wade of Kendall; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at The Shepherds Center in Cimarron. Private family burial will take place at a later date.
