ULYSSES — Nancy Glaspie Foss, 77, of Ulysses, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2018, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.
She was born Sept. 4, 1940, in Shreveport, La., to Julian “Jelly” Elmo and Elva “Pene” Barnhill Glaspie. She graduated as the valedictorian in her class in 1957 in Mansfield, La.
In 1989, she married George Dueward Foss in Heber Springs, Ark. He died in 2002. She also was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Foss had been a Ulysses resident since August 2016.
Survivors include a son, Forrest Saxon of Ulysses; and three grandchildren.
Rosary service will begin at 9:15 a.m. Thursday at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses. Funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. Cremation will follow the service.
Visitation hours are 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
