Josephine Humphrey, 92, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at Wesley Acres Nursing Home in Des Moines, Iowa. 

She was born Oct. 27, 1925, in Okmulgee, Okla., to Walter and Martha Foster Robinson.

On Nov. 21, 1942, she married LeRoy Humphrey in Okmulgee. He died Aug. 4, 1986.  She also was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Pamela Jo; a son, Walter Prentis; two brothers, Frederick and Willie; and a sister, Berniece Butler.

A Garden City resident since 1955, Mrs. Humphrey was a housewife and homemaker.

Survivors include three daughters, Ruth Evelyn Augmon and Sandra Joyce Fells, both of Kansas City, Kan., and Gloria Ann Miller of Des Moines; two sons, Roy Edward Humphrey and Tyrone Douglas, both of Garden City; a sister, Shirlene Moore of Kansas City, Kan.; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. 

Visitation hours are noon to 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
