COOLIDGE — Dorothy Deloris Douglas Libertus, 88, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at her home in Coolidge.
She was born Dec. 27, 1929, in Neodesha, to John Wyatt Douglas and Emma Edith Ruth Denny Douglas. She graduated from Altoona High School in 1947.
On June 24, 1948, she married Ivin “Ike” Arnold Libertus in Garden City.
A lifelong resident of Coolidge, Mrs. Libertus was postmaster of Coolidge, working for the Post Office for more than 37 years before retiring in 1999.
Her husband preceded her in death as did her parents; a son, Francis Keith Libertus; a daughter, Sheila Deloris Libertus; four brothers, Charles Edward Douglas, John William Douglas, Raymond Reed Douglas and Alvin Hugh Douglas; four sisters, Edna Mae Richardson, Irene Mable Bryan, Geneva Cynthia Douglas and Mary Frances Douglas; and a granddaughter.
Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Radke of Hutchinson, and Sheryl Connor of Houston; two sons, Neil Libertus of Coolidge, and Chad Libertus of Houston; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will begin at 10:30 a.m. MST Tuesday at the Coolidge Gymnasium. Burial will follow at Coolidge Cemetery.
