UTICA — Oral Permilia Chaney, 94, of Utica, died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017. 

She was born in January, 1923, in Utica. 

In September 1951, she married Orval Chaney. He died in 2004.

Mrs. Chaney was the music director at Redwood Baptist Church in Napa, Calif., for several years. She enjoyed helping her husband in his woodshop, with his electrical wiring and collecting firewood. She loved baseball and had coached Little League for a time, enjoyed fishing and would consistently out-fish whoever she was on the shore with, and always commemorated special occasions and holidays with handwritten letters and cards.

Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Kay and Ernest Mudd of Dighton; three sons, Charles and Beverly Canty of Caldwell, Idaho, Ned and Donna Chaney of Dayton, Nev., and Jerry and Lynn Chaney of San Diego; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson and one who is on the way.

Funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Boomhower Funeral Home in Dighton. Burial will be at Utica Cemetery.
