CIMARRON — Larrod Ray Proehl, 34, died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, at his home in Cimarron.
He was born Nov. 23, 1982, in Garden City to Lawrence Ray Proehl and Dona Hetrick Proehl.
He grew up in Pierceville. He graduated from the automotive mechanics program at Universal Technical Institute. He spent some time living other places, but always returned to the Garden City area. He worked in different jobs and professions, but always had a passion for anything with wheels. He loved riding and working on his four wheelers and motorcycles and spending time at the river with his friends.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandfather Wayne and they enjoyed bowling, playing marbles and talking about cars and farming together.
He is survived by his sons, Grayson Proehl and Preston Breeding; mother and stepfather Dona and Rod Nolan; grandfather Wayne Hetrick; sisters, Shanda Smith and husband Skeeter, and Stefanie Proehl Collins; nieces and nephews Logan Smith, Dacia Proehl, Jayden Wright, Deidre Proehl and Aidan DeLaCruz; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Proehl; grandmother, Jean Hetrick; and grandparents Les and Vera Proehl.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Pierceville Federated Church in Pierceville, with Pastor Bob Bates presiding.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at Price and Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
Memorials in lieu of flowers may be given to the Grayson Proehl Education Fund, in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home, 620 N. Main St., Garden City, KS 67846.
