Mary Ann Porter, 83, Oakley, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, at Logan County Hospital. 

She was born April 11, 1934, in Logan County to John and Julia (Grasser) Temaat. She was a 1952 graduate of Oakley High School.

She married “Pete” J.G. Porter on June 14, 1954, in Oakley. He preceded her in death. She was a farm wife. She enjoyed farming, working with cattle, raising her family, quilting, gardening and volunteering wherever she was needed.

She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, St. Joseph Catholic Church and Altar Society.

Survivors include two sons, James B. Porter and Patrick Aaron Porter, both of Oakley; three daughters, Cheryl Goetz and husband, Daryl, Park, Pam Schmidtberger and husband, LeRoy, Collyer, and Linda Butler and husband, Mark, Lone Tree, Colo.; a brother, Paul Temaat; a sister, Lu Ewing; three sisters-in-law, Joan Temaat, Phyllis Temaat and Val Temaat; 10 grandchildren, Monica Goetz, Melanie Goetz, Justin Goetz and wife, Kayla, Michelle Bremenkamp and husband, Steve, Tiffany Harvey, Chris Schmidtberger and wife, Veronica, Mark Schmidtberger, Katie Butler and Jonathan Porter and wife, Corine; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Albert, Robert and William Temaat; and a sister, Bertha Lee.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Oakley; burial in the church cemetery. 

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Baalmann Mortuary, Oakley.

A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to VFW Auxiliary or Logan County Manor in care of the mortuary.
