MONTEZUMA - Ira Lee (Buck) Ullom, 84, died Nov. 2, 2017, at Founder’s Crest in Wichita.
He was born Feb. 16, 1933, in Montezuma to Ira B. (Jack) and Sue Hiser Ullom.
He was a lifetime resident of Montezuma and graduated from Montezuma High School in 1953. He served in the U.S. Army.
On July 18, 1954, he married Marlene Blackwelder. She preceded him in death on June 29, 2016. They lived in Montezuma before moving to Dodge City, where he worked in construction. They eventually returned to Montezuma in 1974, and he began farming.
He is survived by a daughter, Rhonda Ullom of Wichita; two sisters, Marjorie Van Aernum of Wichita, and Kimberly Panzer of Lakin; his stepmother, Willetta Ullom Payne of Lakin; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Ron Ullom.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Montezuma United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Montezuma, with military honors by KSARNG.
Visitation will be noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Montezuma, with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
