James L. “Jim” Oller, 61, of Sterling, died Thursday, July 27, 2017, at Hospice House of Reno County. 

He was born Nov. 19, 1955, in Anthony, to Bob and Harriett Crossman Oller. He graduated from Kingman High School in 1973.

A resident of Sterling since 2004, formerly of Holcomb and Spivey, Mr. Oller was a retired dispatcher. He attended Calvary Baptist Church in Sterling, was a member of the Rice County Sportsman Club and the Sterling Booster Club, a former member of the Sterling Chamber of Commerce Board, a former 4-H leader and was the committee chairman for the Spivey Centennial. 

On Aug. 14, 1976, he married Debby Reber in Anthony. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Kevin and wife Wendy Oller of Hutchinson; his mother, Harriett Oller of Sterling; three brothers, Rick and wife Pam Oller of Harper, Cliff and wife Rhonda Oller of Copeland, and Gene and wife Deborah Oller of Kingman; and two grandchildren, Olivia and Cooper Oller. He was preceded in death by his father, Bob Oller. 

Funeral will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman, with Pastor Dale Jordan officiating. 

Visitation hours are 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling, with the family present. Burial will be at Duquoin Cemetery, Duquoin. 

Memorials are suggested to the Rice County Sportsman Club or the American Cancer Society, both in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling.
