Matilda Newcomer

LEOTI — Matilda Ruth "Tillie" Newcomer, 87, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at Wichita County Health Center Long Term Care in Leoti.

She was born May 25, 1925, in Gove County, to John and Verna Garner McLean.

A lifetime resident of Scott and Wichita counties, Mrs. Newcomer was a homemaker.

In 1947, she married John Molner. On May 25, 1976, she married Ben Newcomer in Scott City. He died March 25, 1995, in Wichita. She also was preceded in death by her parents, a son, three daughters and a brother.

Survivors include seven children, Jerry Molner, Berdie Molner and Faye Molner, all of Leoti, Rick Molner of Garden City, Linda Molner of Newport, Va., Lloyd Molner of Jacksonville, Fla., and Carol Valdez of Winchester; three siblings, Andy McLain of Lavant, Harriett Riddick of Leoti, and Eunice McLain of California; and 13 grandchildren.

A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Christ Covenant Church in Leoti. Inurnment will be at Scott County Cemetery in Scott City.

There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to Christ Covenant Church in Leoti.

Price & Sons Funeral Home in Leoti is in charge of arrangements.
