Mary Jane Young

ULYSSES — Mary Jane Young, 75, of Ulysses, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses.

She was born Feb. 7, 1938, in rural Prowers County, Colo., to Clyde E. and Martha R. Hainer Nodine. She graduated from Grant County Rural High School.

On Aug. 25, 1957, she married Leon Young in Pawnee Rock.

In 1955, Mrs. Young began working at Grant County Bank and retired in 1988 as a loan assistant.¬ 

In addition to her husband, survivors include two sons, Kevin Young of St. Cloud, Minn., and Todd Young of Independence; a daughter, Lisa Dasenbrock of Lakin; a brother, Loren Nodine of Denver; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Joyce Monson.

Funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Shelton Memorial Christian Church in Ulysses. Burial will follow at Ulysses Cemetery.

Visitation hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses. Memorials are suggested to DuGood Events, in care of the funeral home, 405 W. Grant Ave., Ulysses, KS 67880.
