Bob Ottaway

Bob R. Ottaway, 81, of Hooker, Okla., died Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, at BSA Hospice in Amarillo, Texas.

He was born Jan. 27, 1931, in Tyrone, Okla., to Eugene and Lillian Lewis Ottaway. After graduating from Tyrone High School in 1949, he entered the U.S. Army in 1951.

In 1955, he married Emma Gene Talley. She died in 1967.

On Dec. 27, 1967, he married Betty Wray Nickels.

Mr. Ottaway was the owner and operator of Sir Speedy Printing, beginning in 1972 and operating the business until 2006. He had resided in Hooker since 2004.

In addition to his wife, survivors include three sons, Woody Nickels of Cooper Canyon, Texas, Rick Ottaway, a former longtime Garden City resident now living in Batesville, Ark., and Mark Ottaway of Overland Park; four daughters, Laura Marsh, Patti Hayworth and Dana Dycus, all of Hooker, and Coreen Jury of Ozawkie; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Christian Church in Hooker.

Arrangements are under the direction of Roberts Brothers Funeral Home Inc., in Hooker.
