Edwin Weeks

SATANTA — Edwin Vern "Tuffy" Weeks, 88, of Satanta, died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, at Satanta District Hospital.

He was born May 8, 1923, in Haskell County, to D.G. and Vera Woodrow Weeks. He graduated from high school in Garden City.

A lifelong resident of Haskell County, Mr. Weeks farmed near Sublette. He moved to Satanta in 1963 and retired in 1990.

On May 26, 1945, he married Juanita E. Stucker in Garden City. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Bruce Weeks of Hutchinson, and Brad Weeks of Satanta; two daughters, Helen Weeks of Liberal, and Kathryn Mauch of Lamar, Colo.; three sisters, Vivian Bethel of Lakin, Vera Mae Knief of Katy, Texas, and Juanita Hamby of Pawhuska, Okla.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Donald Dea Weeks; his parents; and three brothers, Gordon, Eldon and Damon.

Cremation has taken place, with a memorial service planned at a later date.

Miller Mortuary of Liberal is in charge of arrangements.
