Patsy Ruth Ruddick, 79, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at the Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City.

Patsy Ruth Ruddick, 79, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at the Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City.

She was born Dec. 16, 1932, to Joseph Clarence and Eva Alumbaugh Ruddick in Arma.

A resident of Garden City since 1954, she was a teacher and was the director of library services at Garden City Community College until her retirement in 1994.

Miss Ruddick was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Garden City, former president of the Beta Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society and was a life member of the National Education Association. She served on several education boards, was involved with numerous committees, groups and associations and volunteered for a number of community organizations.

Survivors include several nephews, nieces and friends.

Memorial Services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at the Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City.

There will be no calling times at the funeral home.

Inurnment will be held at a later date in Mount Olive Cemetery in Pittsburg.

Memorials may be given to the Western Kansas Community Foundation, in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
