Grace Gertrude Almos

Grace Gertrude Almos, 85, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.
She was born March 2, 1927, to William F. and Mary Anna Nieland in Gann Valley, S.D.
On June 1, 1950, she married Melvin Almos in Estelline, S.D.
Mrs. Almos moved to Garden City in 1967 and worked as a drapery seamstress and cutter for Southwest Carpet & Tile Company.
She is preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Ray Nieland, Emery Nieland, William Nieland, Albert Nieland, Donald Nieland, and her twin, Calvin Nieland; two sisters, Elsie Shalley and Elvina Klinger; and one great-granddaughter.
Survivors include four sons, Robert and Sandra Almos of Garden City, Roger Almos of Hillsboro, Randall and Joanne Almos of Topeka, Ronald and Ranae Almos of Lenexa; one daughter, Renee and David Loya of Lenexa; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at First Christian Church in Garden City.
