Violet Dunkel, 80, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.

Violet Dunkel, 80, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.

She was born April 4, 1932, in Scott City, to Hugh and Anna Lenzze Gresty.

A homemaker, Mrs. Dunkel had lived most of her life in Scott City.

Survivors include two sons, Roy Dunkel of Garden City, and Jimmy Dunkel of Scott City; two brothers, Hugh Gresty Jr. of Scott City, and John Gresty of Goodland; two sisters, Mary Ann Byrd of Winfield, and Annie Jones of Rolla, Mo.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A private family burial has taken place.
