DIGHTON — Ronald L. Borell, 82, Dighton, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at Hodgeman County Hospital in Jetmore.

DIGHTON — Ronald L. Borell, 82, Dighton, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at Hodgeman County Hospital in Jetmore.

He was born July 11, 1930, in Ellsworth, to Ed and Alta Wire Borell.

He married Mary Lou Bockelman on Aug. 9, 1964, in Dighton.

His family moved to Dighton in 1946. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 until 1955. After his discharge, he returned to the family farm to farm and feed cattle.

He is survived by his wife, Dighton; a son, Tory Borell, and his wife, Melinda, of Dighton; a brother, Elvern Borell, Dighton; a sister, Sharon Hempler, Almena; and a granddaughter, Emma Borell, Dighton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Gene Borell and Loren Borell.

Calling Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Boomhower Funeral Home in Dighton.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Scott City. Burial will be at Dighton Memorial Cemetery.

Memorial may be given to Holy Cross Lutheran Church in care of Boomhower Funeral Home, Box 891, Dighton, KS 67839.
