ULYSSES — John C. Reimer, 91, of Ulysses and formerly of Plains, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at The Legacy in Park View¬ in Ulysses.

He was born Oct. 30, 1920, on a farm in Meade County, to Jacob A. and Katherine L. Classen Reimer.

He married Edith W. Rickers on June 10, 1945, and farmed north of Kismet for 60 years.¬ 

He is survived by three sons, Daryl R. Reimer of Tulsa, Okla., Kevin J. Reimer of Ulysses, and Lance A. Reimer of Garden City; a brother, Ervin Reimer of Greeley, Colo.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. ¬ 

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Edith; six brothers, Ben, Pete, Dave, Thomas, Aaron and Herman; and two sisters, Margaretha and Matilda.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Plains United Methodist Church in Plains. Interment will follow at the Plains Cemetery in Plains.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses. Memorial contributions may be given to Kansas Children's Trust Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave., Ulysses, KS 67880.
