MEADE — Gladys Aileen Bruington, 94, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at her home.

MEADE — Gladys Aileen Bruington, 94, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at her home.

She was born March 6, 1918, in Fowler, to Walter Warren and Feryl Ione Flinn Marrs.

On March 25, 1939, she married Reynolds Loren Bruington, in Liberal.

After their marriage, the couple made their home on the Marrs homestead in rural Meade County until 1955, when they moved to Meade.

She is survived by five sisters, Guinola Mae Tacha of Meade, Leola Maxine Brown of Nickerson, Willa Warrenetta Fisher of Garden City, Betty Ione Leis of Rogers, Ark., and Marjorie LaVon Miller of Meade; three brothers, Alfred Warren Marrs of Meade, Virgil Eugene Marrs of Hays, and Arwin Wendell Marrs of Pahrump, Nev.

She was preceded in death by her husband on May 12, 1998; and her parents.

Funeral services were Saturday at the United Methodist Church, Meade. Interment followed at the Fowler Cemetery, Fowler.

The family would welcome memorials to the United Methodist Church, in care of the funeral home.
