SCOTT CITY — Paul F. Edwards, 96, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at Park Lane Nursing Home in Scott City.
He was born Dec. 3, 1916, in rural Sheridan County, to Rutherford O. and Delia C. Hockman Edwards.
After farming in northwest Wichita County since 1946, Mr. Edwards retired and moved to Scott City in 1981. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
On Sept. 20, 1940, he married Bernice E. Wright in Hutchinson. She died April 26, 2007, in Scott City. He also was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bill and Dean Edwards; three sisters, Nola Chambers, Margarete Mountford and Helen Basset; two half brothers, Ira and Roy Hatten; and a half sister, Edna Bollinger.
Survivors include three sons, Keith Edwards of Russell Springs, and Max and Steve Edwards, both of Scott City; a daughter, Jeanene Overholt of Bartlesville, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Scott City. Burial will be at Scott County Cemetery, Scott City.
