John W. Jameson, 81, of Texarkana, Texas, and formerly of Garden City, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013.

John W. Jameson, 81, of Texarkana, Texas, and formerly of Garden City, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013.

He was born Sept. 12, 1931, in Woodward, Okla., to Frank and Opal Jameson.

Mr. Jameson served as a vice principal, athletic director and coach for middle school and high school students for 40-plus years in Oklahoma and Kansas.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Jameson; three daughters, Cathy McGowan, Susan Goldsmith and Tricia Mackin; a son, Mike Jameson; and nine grandchildren.

Services will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Chapelwood Funeral Home Chapel, 1015 N. Kings Highway in Nash, Texas. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 7:30 tonight. Memorials are suggested to the Barnabas Fund at First Baptist Church of Texarkana, 3015 Moores Lane, Texarkana, TX 75503.
