Ruby Guthrie

Ruby E. Guthrie, 75, of Wichita, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013.

Mrs. Guthrie was a drug and alcohol abuse counselor. She was a founding member of the Sweet Adelines of Dodge City.

Survivors include her children, Brenda Marsh and husband Bobby, and Ronda Bigley and husband Robert, all of Wichita, and Michael Guthrie and wife Delores of Holcomb; her siblings, C.D. Swaim and wife Carolyn of Derby, Nita Shipman and husband Nathan of Wichita, Jean Holoman of Wichita, Lois Agee and husband Dale of Dodge City, and Lola Vestal of Washington; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lucy Swaim; and a brother, Preston L. Swaim.

A memorial gathering will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Lake Afton Park Shelter, Building 1, near Wichita.

Baker Funeral Home of Wichita is in charge of arrangements.
