Hallie Schwindt

Hallie Roy Schwindt, 95, of Garden City, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.

He was born June 13, 1917, in Marienthal, to John and Katherine Stang Schwindt.

A resident of Garden City since 1983, Mr. Schwindt had been a farmer and rancher.

He married D. Eileen Redding in Scott City. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Mary Love of Garden City, and Lisa Rosales of San Antonio, Texas; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Albert, Herman and Clifford Schwindt; and four sisters, Hattie Gerstberger, Elsie Smith, Alberta Leach and Esther Gough.

Funeral will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Garden City. Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.

Visitation hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City. Condolences may be sent at www.priceandsons.com. Memorials are suggested to the church, in care of the funeral home, 620 N. Main St., Garden City, KS 67846.

Condolences

I met Hallie in my father's store 48 years ago. I knew then he was a character and a good ol' boy. It seems like Hallie was always busy, even well past retirement age, but that kept him going. I'll miss Hallie, like all those that had the pleasure to know him. May God Bless!
