Ronnie Graber

LAKIN — Ronnie D. Graber, 64, of Lakin, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at High Plains Retirement Village Assisted Living in Lakin.

He was born May 10, 1948, in Kingman, to Marvin and Mary Gehring Graber.

Mr. Graber had been a Lakin resident since 1971. A farmer, he helped on the family farm. He loved John Deere equipment, Ford vehicles, watching basketball, especially the Lakin Broncs and The University of Kansas, bowling, music and attending church.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Graber of Lakin; a sister, Pat Mitchell and husband Terry of Lakin; a nephew, Tim Mitchell and wife Deb of Syracuse; a niece, Tracy Lamb of Lakin; five great-nieces and great-nephews, Lauryn Lamb, Kailey Lamb, Jake Mitchell, Joe Mitchell and Jayden Mitchell; an aunt, Lillie Krehbiel of Lindsborg; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at the Wesleyan Church in Lakin. Burial will follow at Lakin Cemetery.

Visitation hours are 1 to 8 p.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home in Lakin. Condolences may be emailed to garnandfh@sbcglobal.net. Memorials are suggested to the Gideons, the Wesleyan Church Fellowship Expansion Fund, American Diabetes Association or High Plains Retirement Village, all in care of the funeral home, 508 N. Main St., Lakin, KS 67860.

We worked for Mary Graber a few years ago and one of the biggest things I remember was Ronnie, such a fun loving man. Always had a big smile and a hug to welcome us into his home. RIP Ronnie.
