George Pelnar

George Pelnar, 84, of McPherson, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at McPherson Hospital.

He was born Dec. 28, 1928, in Holcomb, to John Evan and Sarah Elizabeth Craig Pelnar.

Mr. Pelnar worked as a master electrician for Pyle Construction Company of McPherson and later for Union No. 661.

On March 6, 1955, he married Rodena Mae "Dena" Schultz in Wichita. She died Nov. 21, 2002. He also was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, John A., Jacob R. and Robert C. Pelnar; and three sisters, Myrtle Pelnar, Josephine Cunningham and Marjorie Deaton.

Survivors include four children, Gerald Pelnar, Mark Pelnar and Denise Pelnar, all of McPherson, and Barbara Walker of Cherryvale; a brother, Charles Lester Pelnar of Stillwater, Okla.; 23 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Burial of the Dead and Holy Eucharist, Rite I will begin at 10 a.m. Sunday at St. Anne's Episcopal Church, McPherson. Final resting place will be at McPherson Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to St. Anne's Episcopal Church, in care of Glidden-Ediger Funeral Home, 222 W. Euclid St., McPherson, KS 67460.
