The Garden City Community College Endowment Association Scholarship Auction, with the theme of "Who's Your Caddy?", is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Finney County Exhibition Building on the fairgrounds in Garden City.

Doors open to admission wrist band wearers at 6 p.m., with a silent auction starting at 6:30 p.m. and the live auction starting at 7:30 p.m. Wrist band prices increased to $25 after Wednesday. For more information and reservations, call 276-9578. Wrist bands are available from Keller-Leopold Insurance, Kinney Glass, Goldworks, Culligan of Southwest Kansas, Skeeter's Body Shop, Burtis Motor Co. and GCCC Endowment Association Office, plus association board members.

Entertainment will be provided by the GCCC jazz band. The wrist band admission cost also includes refreshments provided by Culligan of Southwest Kansas, Western Beverage, Southwest Distributing, Great Western Dining and Pepsi.

Light snacks will be provided, and the GCCC meats team will offer dinner at a variety of prices: $10 for prime rib with all the fixings; $8 for pulled pork sandwiches with the fixings; or $4 for a pulled pork or pork loin sandwich.

The association also is conducting a donation drawing for a 2010 Dodge Challenger SE. Sponsors of the car are Keller Leopold Insurance and Skeeters Body Shop. For a donation of $50, people can enter to win the car. The winner's name will be drawn at the conclusion of the auction, but it's not necessary to be there to win.

The 32nd annual auction also will include Miss Kansas 2009, Becki Ronen. She will mingle with the crowd, and take the stage throughout the evening to draw names of finalists and will draw the final winner in the drawing for the new car.

Items that have been donated for the live and silent auction include: a multi-admission movie and concession package from Mitchell Theaters-Sequoyah Eight Cinema; Denver Bronco tickets; a Lazy-Boy recliner from Garnand Fine Furniture; a vacation home package at Table Rock Lake, given by Chris McKinney of Garden City; a U.S. Air Force Academy golf package, with accompanying academy football tickets, provided by Burtis; a golf package at Highlands Ranch in Colorado, including two 18-hole rounds, plus overnight accommodations and other features; and a full orthodontic package, offered by Dr. Timothy Hanigan and Dr. Christina Hanigan.

Some donors are providing golf-related items, too, including a Nike driver from Cole's Golf Shop at Buffalo Dunes; and a Caddy Shack package, in which volunteer public officials and community leaders will provide personal caddy services for the successful bidder.

Other weekend event's include:
