Library board set to meet Tuesday

The Finney County Public Library Board will meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the library, 605 E. Walnut St.

Doll to hold informal meeting today

State Rep. John Doll plans to hold an informal meeting at 10 a.m. today at Patrick Dugan's Coffee House, 301 N. Main. Doll said he hopes to have these informal meetings each Saturday during the session as his schedule allows to allow people to ask questions about things going on in the legislature.

Knights of Columbus to host free throw contest

The Knights of Columbus is hosting a free throw contest at the Garden City Community College's back gym on Feb. 9.

The contest begins at 9 a.m. and is for boys and girls from 10 to 14 years of age.

Winners of the local contest will move onto compete in a regional competition on Sunday, Feb. 16 in Ulysses. Winners of that contest will go onto a state-level competition, winners at the state level will then go to a national competition and those winners will compete in international competition. Dates and locations of the other competitions will be announced at a later date.
