Stuff the Bus donations wanted now

The big colorful buses will be out in force July 19 and 20, but you don't have to wait until then to make a donation to the charitable effort that provides backpacks of school supplies to disadvantaged youths. Donations are being accepted now at The Finney County United Way, 1511 Fulton Terrace, Salvation Army, 216 N. Ninth, or Finney County Health Coalition, 310 E. Walnut, Ste. 200.

The buses will be at Dillons East and West and Walmart from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. July 19 and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 20.

Donated supplies will be disbtributed from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 1 at Garfield Early Childhood Learning Center. Any child qualifying for free/reduced meals or food stamps qualifies to receive a backpack.

Items needed include: backpacks, 24-count crayons, loose-leaf paper, spiral noteboks, Elmers glue bottles, watercolor paints, blue sticks, #2 pencils, large erasers, blue and black ink pens and red, plain colored pocket folders, dry erase markers, washable markers, composition notebooks, colored pencils, scissors for early childhood through fourth-grade.
