Police arrested one of two men allegedly involved in a shooting at a local bar early Sunday morning and continue to search for the other.
Eric Herman Rojas, 22, Amarillo, Texas, was arrested at 8:52 p.m. Sunday on allegations of four counts of attempted second-degree murder, three counts of aggravated battery, five counts of aggravated assault, criminal discharge of a weapon, criminal damage to property and criminal possession of a firearm.
At 1:49 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to Salon Primaveras, 3225 Prairie Ave., on a report of shots fired. When officers arrived, they were told two men shot into a crowd as they were exiting the business. Officers were notified that two individuals had been shot and responded to St. Catherine Hospital.
Laureal Richardson, 19, Garden City, was shot in his left shoulder. Vincent Segura, 23, Garden City, was shot in the left leg after a bullet grazed his right hand and right thigh.
Through their investigation, officers learned two shooters confronted a group of five people as they exited the bar. After a brief exchange of words, two people began shooting at the group. Four of the people were able to get into a vehicle and leave after the vehicle was shot into several times.
Danny Beltran, 21, Garden City, was not able to get in the vehicle and was hit in his foot by a ricochet bullet. He left the scene before officers arrived. Officers identified the two potential suspects and believe Richardson and Segura were hit by stray bullets.
Police blocked off an area surrounding Washington and Fulton streets Sunday night for several hours after they responded to a disturbance and possible gang activity near 200 Washington Street and were led to believe Rojas was in the area. Police then learned Rojas was in a mobile home residence at 212 Washington St., Lot 2.
Police and the S.W.A.T. team responded to secure the area surrounding the mobile home. Detectives then obtained a search warrant for the residence, and at about 8:55 p.m., the S.W.A.T. team located and arrested Eric Rojas and Marcus Rojas, who were hiding under the skirt of the mobile home at the Washington Street residence. Marcus Rojas, 24, 801 W. Campbell St., was arrested on an allegation of obstructing the legal process in a felony case.
Police also arrested Carlos Cruz, 20, 1312 Conkling Ave., on an allegation of obstruction upon their arrival because Cruz would allegedly not leave the area.

Live, Laugh and Love. Stop all this talk and get out some good ideas for you community. At least TRY in making a difference!

SAD
Its sad. Why should EVERYONE else have to do something to help the less fortunate?? Do something for youself. Everyone is two quick to point fingers at someone else, but take some pride and responsibility into yourself and DO something for yourself and not just sit there with your hand out waiting for someone to give you that opportunity. God gave you everything you need to succeed. Don't wait for someone else to open the door for you, do it yourself. While everyone on this page is making comments about poor hispanics and asians, remember there are white people, and german, and people from all over the world that lives in trailers. It has nothing to do with where they live. Its how they act and what they do with themselves. I am a low income resident but I work hard day in and day out to make sure my kids can go to the Y and do stuff to keep them from being scums on the streets. Most of all I have instilled MORALS in them to be able to make the proper decisions and if those decisions aren't made correctly. That is life, we don't sit around and wait for someone to hand me the easy button!

(:
Respect cant be shown if all people do is judge people for what they look in the outside or where theyre from or even where they live!!! LIKE TRAILERS. there are many people who just think theyre higher than hispanics and asians and all those other races, and thats what creates DISRESPECT. the world will always be the same because hatred is always being exposed. As for this event we should at least be thankful we dont need to be worrying about these men running around our city.

I don't think that everyone sums up that all mexicans are the same. There is an over abundance of hispanics in the area that suffer from lack of guidance and an education. That is probably the case behind these 2 individuals that did this shooting. Its individuals like yourself that gives hispanics the slang name mexicans, beaners, wetbacks etc. If you don't want us "GOODIE GOODIES" to descriminate, be respectful. The way you typed your comment was very disrespectful to the English language and all the "GOODIE GOODIES" that read it. Keep in mind that these goodie goodies that you are refering to do come in all different shapes, sizes, colors, and nationalities, it all depends on how your carry and maintain yourself. GO BACK TO SCHOOL AND SEE WHAT TYPE OF LIFE YOU WILL LIVE THEN!!

A united community
Well here I go again. We have a growing problem with these "hoods" because there is nothing that our community is doing to give these kids an outlet for something positive to do with their time. There have been several attempts by some individuals over time but it fizzled because they didn't have the support they needed. Yes the people in this incident were young adults but they started this lifestyle as young teenagers. I think we should be providing more activities for young kids today that they can do that doesn't cost a furtune. Not everyone can afford the YMCA. As a community and parents we need to educate ourselves so that we can better support our city that is changing and support those that need help. I am tired of the ignorant comments towards violence when no one is doing anything to help the situation but pointing fingers. Find out abuot what is going on and instead of getting bitter and angry try to come up with solutions. It won't happen overnight but we have to start somewhere.

Dear Toby,
I don't know if you know this or not, but people live in trailors that you would just be so ready to burn down. The whole story was about someone who was shooting people. And all you want to talk about is Burning down peoples homes. Now how does that make you any different than the person who shoots people? Now I won't argue with ignorance as it will drag me down and beat me with experience, so I thought I would just give you a little friendly advise. God Bless and may your home never burn down.

Hello????
Okay, okay... enough about the trailor and the Mexicans. Did everyone forget what the story was about? Someone shot some people. But is it really that serios or is it the trailors fault? Or was it the Mexican that was under it? Hmmmm.

Bad neighborhoods
While everyone is a pointing fingers and making ignorant comments don't forget to blame the landlords who keep thier rentals in such sad shape. Slumlords as I call them. The only way to fix the problem is education and prevention. Something I think as a comunnity we need to practice more.

shooting
Just to point out that not all Hispanics are gang members, or dangerous, or anything like that. Gang members put a lot of shape in the Hispanic community.

gun shooting
As a hunter and gun owner I hate to see things like this. It will be used against the ones who are resoncable . We may never have to shoot another human , to make us look big in the eyes of others . If the laws were different I would not be to worried . But under the way the laws work they will get a sentence that is not enought . Because most who do this type of crime don't serve half the time for the crime . I belive it should be a crime with no chance of parol. And if they are illegals that are involved they should be imprisoned and the goverment shouldbe charged for there inturnment in our prison system.

why can't the city burn down all those mobie home's in that area and get rid of all the crime, it has to cost the city a lot of money in that one little area because it seems the police are over there aressting someone everyday. get rid of the cheap mobile homes and those cheap little cabins and you get rid of the dope heads
