Police are investigating a one-vehicle accident involving nine teenagers.
Garden City police Sgt. Michael Reagle said police responded at 10:51 a.m. Monday to a residence at 2402 Dee Ave., after a blue 2002 Ford Explorer had struck the residence.
Reagle said according to the accident report, Carlos Macias Jr., 16, was driving the Ford Explorer with eight passengers when he passed out and accelerated the vehicle. One of the passengers in the back attempted to jump over the seat to hit the brakes. The car swerved, rolled onto its passenger side then onto its top, struck a curb, flipped back on its wheels, began sliding down the street, flipped a full rotation in the air and came to rest on its wheels after it struck the Dee Avenue residence.
Reagle said police are investigating the possibility of the teenagers being high after huffing Dust-Off, a computer cleaner.
When police arrived, three of the nine teenagers remained at the scene of the crash. Four of the other teenagers were found at a residence down the street.
Marques Flores, 15, suffered a broken right foot and cut to his arm. Ramone Ramirez Jr., 14, another passenger, reportedly lost consciousness during the accident.
EMS transported five of the passengers who suffered various scrapes, cuts and bruises. Two other passengers went on their own to the emergency room, Reagle said.
Other passengers in the vehicle were Antonio Ponce, 16, Joshua Hernandez, 16, Alexander Embrey, 15, Valentin Reynaga Jr., 15, Krista Morales, 15, and Daniel Rangel Jr., 15.
