JETMORE (AP) — A 44-year-old Kansas man convicted for the second

time of sexual offenses involving children has been sentenced to life in

prison without the possibility of parole for 25 years.

The Hutchinson News reports Douglas D. Peterman was sentenced

Thursday in Hodgeman County court to the mandatory sentence. Peterman

was found guilty in October of three counts of aggravated indecent

liberties with a child.

He was also sentenced to five years in prison in July 2002 for

possession of child pornography. In that case, Peterman pleaded guilty

to possessing computer images of children engaged in sexually explicit


Hodgeman County prosecutors also charged Peterman in 2010 with

failing to register as a sexual offender. He was placed on a diversion

in that case.
