Registrations are now being accepted for Session 1 of all fitness classes offered at Garden City Recreation Commission. Classes begin next week (fees are $24 unless noted otherwise).
Classes and meeting times are as follows:
Total Body Blast (Boot Camp), 5:15 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday; Fit After Fifty, 10 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday ($32); Yoga (A), 4:30 p.m. Monday and Thursday; Yoga (B), 5:35 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday; Zumba, 6 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday ($32) or 5:45 p.m. Monday and Thursday; Water Aerobics, 10 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday; and Zumba Toning, 7:30 a.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday ($32).
Fitness class sessions run for six weeks.
A daily drop-in fee of $4 allows non-registrants to participate if paid prior to the start of the respective class.

Free early childhood screening clinic
USD #457 will hold a free screening clinic for children 3 to 5 years of age who are Garden City residents.
The clinic is Jan. 17 at the Garfield Early Childhood Center, 121 W. Walnut, Garden City.
The screening will take approximately an hour and a half. Trained professionals will check each child's hearing, vision, large and small muscle development, communication, and thinking skills.

A variety of dance classes will kick off next week at Garden City Recreation Commission. All classes are open to youth age 16 through adults.
Ballroom dance for couples starts Tuesday, led by Al and Linda Miller; "Next Step" line dance starts Tuesday, led by Florene Romesburg; beginning line dance starts Thursday, led by Nancy Randolph; and pattern dance for couples starts Thursday, led by Jeff and Nancy Randolph.

The American Legion Riders Community Breakfasts will resume in March. None are scheduled for January or February.
The breakfasts normally are offered on the second Sunday of each month. The all-you-can-eat meal is offered to the community at a charge, although family members of deployed service men and women eat for free.
