A Garden City woman has been charged with computer crimes, felony theft and misdemeanor theft stemming from allegations she stole from a former employer.
Diane Bishop, 38, was charged Thursday morning in Finney County with 22 criminal counts related to felony theft, computer crimes and criminal misuse of a financial card belonging to The Garden City Telegram.
Bishop, former business manager at The Telegram, is charged with one count of computer crimes for allegedly using a system or network to devise a scheme with the intent to defraud to obtain money, one count of felony theft between $1,000 and $25,000, and 19 counts of misdemeanor criminal use of a financial card.
The allegations of criminal use of a financial card occurred from Nov. 2, 2007, to Aug. 13, 2008.
Bishop was employed at The Telegram from Nov. 2, 1998 to Aug. 14, 2008.
Bishop is represented by Caleb Boone, Hays. Her bond was set at $20,000 personal recognizance.
A case management conference has been set for April 22 at the Law Enforcement Center.
