A Garden City man and California man were injured Saturday in a one-vehicle accident in Finney County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Noel Jimenez, 26, was driving a GMC passenger car westbound on Mansfield Road at about 10:40 p.m. and was approaching the intersection at Jennie Barker Road at a high rate of speed. The car slid through the intersection and struck a bridge. The car went off the bridge and landed on the northwest side of the ditch.

Fernando Delatorre Jr., 20, Imperial Beach, Calif., was a passenger in the car. He was taken to St. Catherine Hospital and later lifewatched to Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, according to the KHP.

St. Catherine hospital staff reported Jimenez was in good condition Monday morning. Maria Loving, spokesperson for Via Christi St. Francis, reported Delatorre was in good condition this morning.

Jimenez was wearing a seat belt and Delatorre was not, according to the KHP.
