Commission to consider proposal on former Legion

The Garden City Commission on Tuesday is expected to consider an offer by Garden City Arts to purchase the old American Legion Building, 125 Pine St., for $1.

The commission is scheduled to meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the City Administrative Center, 301 N. Eighth St.

Garden City Arts wants to turn the old Legion building into an art gallery.

Other items on the agenda include: ordinances establishing penalties for licensees whose employees or agents are convicted of selling or furnishing alcohol to a minor; an ordinance regulating building permits and site plans and amending associated zoning regulations; an ordinance to rezone property at 3285 E. Fulton St. from general commercial to light industrial; and an ordinance to rezone properties at 1706 and 1802 E. Spruce St. from general commercial to public facilities district.
