'Freedom in Christ'

The Seventh Day Adventist Church Messiah Group will present a program at 4 p.m. Saturday at Homestead Health & Rehabilitation, 2308 N. Third St.

The theme is "Freedom In Christ."

The public is encouraged to attend at no charge.

Coping with anxiety, panic

Healthy ways to cope with anxiety and panic attacks will be discussed at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lifetree Café, 3101 Campus Drive.

The program, "When Anxiety Strikes: Compassion, Peace and Understanding," features filmed interviews with psychologist Kelly Breen Boyce and with Cheryl Eresman, who describes her experiences with panic attacks.

"When you have a panic attack, you think you're dying," said Eresman. "People who have never had one have no idea what it's like."

Lifetree participants will gain greater understanding and get practical tools for dealing with anxiety and panic.

Admission to the 60-minute event is free. Snacks and beverages are available.

Lifetree Café is a place where people gather for conversation about life and faith in a casual coffeehouse-type setting.
