Sons of Thunder meet for fellowship

Sons of Thunder meet for fellowship

The Sons of Thunder met Dec. 5 with about 175 men in attendance for fellowship in Christ.

Sons Of Thunder is an interdenominational group of Christian men that has only one agenda: to "break down the walls that separate men from knowing Jesus Christ."

The evening included a meal of chicken and beef fajitas with rice and beans and a dessert sopapilla and ice cream. Following the meal, the group planned to watch a video from Billy Graham, "My Hope," but since time was too short, the men were invited to watch it on YouTube.

Other announcements were made to get men involved with the "Every Man A Warrior" men's study. To see how to get started and to help get men involved to get fired up in their churches, visit www.everymanawarrior.com. Other links include www.everymanawarrior/messages from lonnie.

Wesley Putnam was the featured speaker and entertainment. He is from the area of Bedford, Texas, and leads praise music with his guitar and voice. He gave the message "Who will carry the message of Jesus Christ to the next generation!"

The next meeting will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Ulysses Civic Center. It will be one of the "Red Letter Nights, The White Flag Night!!" White Flag night is where white flags are handed out. Attendees will sing the song "White Flag" by Chris Tomlin. It will be presented by the Praise Team from the OASIS Church of Ulysses. Men will have the opportunity to surrender all the things that they have been plagued with that holds them back from becoming the man that God wants them to become. Ken Harder from Meade will be the featured speaker. He has just returned from a trip to the Holy Land, Israel.
