Fall Revival coming to Satanta
Inspirational preaching and heart-warming singing will take place during the Fall Revival at Pleasant Prairie Church of God, rural Satanta, Nov. 15 to 17.
Services will begin at 7 p.m. Nov. 15 and 16, with child care provided. A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow the service on Nov. 15. The general service will begin at 10:45 a.m. Nov. 17. A special bonus will include a carry-in meal at noon Nov. 17.
Speaker for the services will be former pastor, the Rev. Marvin Middlebrooks, who now serves as head of specialized ministries at Mid-America Christian University in Oklahoma City.
For more information, call the church office at 276-6304. The church pastor is the Rev. Danny Jackson.
Judging to be explored at Lifetree event
The consequences of being too quick to judge will be examined at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lifetree Café, 3101 Campus Drive.
The program, "Wrongly Accused: A Rush To Judgment Destroys A Life," features an exclusive filmed interview with Tim Masters, who spent 10 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit.
Masters tells how he was targeted as a suspect and how the justice system failed him. And what it was like to serve a life sentence as an innocent man.
"I was a law-abiding citizen. I gave up eight years of my life serving this country in the Navy. But there I was, locked up for something I didn't do, and people would shoot me if I tried to leave," Masters said.
Admission to the 60-minute event is free. Snacks and beverages will be available.
Lifetree Café is a place where people gather for conversation about life and faith in a casual coffeehouse-type setting.
Questions about Lifetree may be directed to Craig Cable at (970) 292-4838 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
