The Finney County Sheriff's Office is investigating an accident involving a car and school bus that happened about 3:45 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Jennie Barker Road and U.S. Highway 50.
Cynthia Moody, 50, was driving a 1997 Chevy Lumina eastbound on U.S. 50 when she attempted to make a left turn at Jennie Barker Road. A USD 457 school bus, driven by Ronald Sherraden, 68, struck the Lumina in the rear.
The sheriff's office reported Sherraden had said he applied pressure to the brakes but the school bus did not stop.
Moody and her passenger, Lyn Wanless, 52, were transported by EMS to St. Catherine Hospital for possible injury. Both were treated and released.
The bus had 36 passengers. No one was injured.
The accident remains under investigation.
The Garden City Fire Department, sheriff's office, and the Kansas Highway Patrol responded to the accident scene.

Ron, you need to request that KHP takes this investigation. It would be in your best interest.
