New HQ for Kansas Grain Sorghum Producers

The Kansas Grain Sorghum Producers Association has shared staff and office space for several years with the Kansas Corn Growers Association. That relationship continues to be strong, however, the KGSPA has recently decided to share staff and office space with the Kansas Grain Sorghum Commission.

The two organization share many customers and issues, making the change a good fit. Discussions began in January, and a contratual agreement to join efforts was signed recently.

Sorghum checkoff funds are administred by the United Sorghm Checkoff Program, a federal program authorized through the USDA. KGSC receives checkoff funds for research, market development, promotion and education.

KGSPA was established by Kansas grain sorghum growers to represent members in legislative and regulatory issues.

The two entities will continue to have separate boards and budgets, even though they share staff. Jill Barnhardt Administrator of the commission, will serve as Executive Director for the assocation. The address for both entities will be 795 22nd Rd. NW, Lebo KS. The phone number is 785-477-9474.
