Children's art programs begin this week

Garden City Arts kicks off its children's art programs this week. Fees are $48 for nonmembers and $40 for members unless noted otherwise.

"Garden On The Gogh" meets from 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through July 22. It is open to students in fifth- to 12th-grade who are at-risk, disabled or experiencing adversity in life.

"N.E.W. (Never Ending Workshop)" offers creative exploration for children ages 3 to 6 (parents must remain on-site) from 3 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Aug. 20. Fee is $30 for nonmembers; $20 for members.

Children age 7 and older will learn about painting from 3 to 4 p.m. Thursdays through July 31; sculpture from 3 to 4 p.m. Fridays through Aug. 1; and drawing from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturdays through Aug. 2.
